The TCC and ACMRS are cooking up something special … watch this space!

With How Now Brown Cow Productions, we will be supporting the work of the Johannesburg Awakening Minds (JAM) ensemble and creating multilingual Shakespeare video resources.

TCC affiliate Tonderai Munyevu is co-artistic director of Two Gents Productions, a cross-cultural touring theatre company based in London. We will be partnering with Two Gents on publications and events related to their work.

We are working with the Johannesburg Public Library to digitise further translations of Shakespeare’s plays into African languages.

We have collaborated with TCC affiliate Henry Bell and his UWS colleagues to connect theatre makers and university students in South Africa, Scotland, Ghana and Malawi.

The University of Bayreuth is known for its International School of African Studies and “Africa Multiple” Cluster of Excellence. The TCC will both draw on and promote the expertise in African languages and literatures of Bayreuth scholars, such as our affiliates Serena Talento and Ifeoluwa Aboluwade.

We have partnered with TCC affiliate Daniel Galloway to facilitate an exciting online reading of a work-in-progress Hamlet.

SADiLaR is the South African Centre for Digital Language Resources. The TCC will be partnering with SADiLaR in building the Sol Plaatje Archive of Shakespeare in African Languages.
